Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte Recipe

My blender saw strawberries and started making smoothie plans. I had to tell it to calm down. We are doing something classier today. This drink is for anyone who cannot decide between a fruit shake and a coffee shop beverage.

It combines sweet strawberry goodness with earthy matcha tea. You get two delicious layers in one glass. It is a small victory for indecisive people everywhere.

This recipe is simple. You make a sweet strawberry base. You make a matcha tea shot. You pour them into a glass with milk and ice. The result is a pretty pink and green drink. It also tastes fantastic.

Iced Strawberry Matcha Latte - Ingredients

Instructions

Prepare the Strawberry Puree

Add the strawberries, honey, and one tablespoon of warm water to a blender. Blend these ingredients until they become smooth.

Prepare the Matcha

Sift the matcha powder into a cup. This prevents lumps. Add the two tablespoons of hot water to the cup. Whisk the matcha and water vigorously. Use a bamboo whisk or a small regular whisk. Whisk until the matcha dissolves completely and a light foam appears on top.

Assemble the Drink

Fill a glass to the top with ice cubes. Pour the milk into the glass, leaving some space at the top. Spoon the strawberry puree over the milk. Slowly pour the prepared matcha over the back of a spoon onto the strawberry layer. This action helps create a separate green layer.

Tips

Use a tall, clear glass. You want everyone to see your beautiful layers. Drink it immediately. The layers will mix together after some time. That is okay. It will still taste great. You can use frozen strawberries. Let them thaw for a few minutes first. For a smoother drink, mix the strawberry puree with the milk before adding the matcha.
