Beef & Broccoli Stir-Fry – The Takeout Impersonator That Won’t Ghost Your Wallet

Hey, kitchen heroes! Tired of your broccoli giving you sad side-eye from the fridge? Ready to turn that beef in your freezer into something that doesn’t scream “I forgot to meal plan”? Let’s rescue dinner with a stir-fry so tasty, your takeout guy might send a concerned wellness check. Spoiler: No soy sauce packets required.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

Instructions:

1. Beef’s Spa Day:
Slice the flank steak against the grain. This is non-negotiable—unless you want chewy beef that fights back. Pat it dry with paper towels (steak hates soggy handshakes).

2. Sauce Whisperer:
In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and brown sugar. Stir until smooth. Congratulate yourself: You’ve just made takeout’s kryptonite.

3. Wok Star:
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok or skillet over high heat. Add beef in a single layer—no crowd-surfing! Cook 1-2 minutes per side until browned (not gray, unless you enjoy sadness). Remove beef; let it nap on a plate.

4. Broccoli’s Moment:
Add remaining oil to the wok. Toss in garlic, stir 10 seconds (until fragrant, not burnt—burnt garlic is the roommate who won’t do dishes). Add broccoli + water. Cover, steam 2 minutes for crisp-tender glory. Uncover, stir until water evaporates.

5. Reunite the Squad:
Return beef to the wok. Pour sauce over everything. Stir-fry 1-2 minutes until sauce thickens and coats the beef like a cozy blanket.

6. Serve & Flex:
Plop stir-fry over rice. Optional garnish: Sesame seeds (for fancy points) or extra broccoli (for “see, I’m healthy” points).
